    1. I have never been one to indulge much in the world of fantasy romances, though I know that the world of romances and the happily ever after it offers is nothing much than a fantasy in itself However, I am talking about an altogether a much different kind of fantasy in this instance, stories where authors spin elaborate and fantastic worlds of their own making, within which mythical creatures of all types reside in, and the sky is literally the limit in what can take place in such a world Though [...]

    2. Before the Storm tells the story of Alexis Khayne, a mare sex slave owned by Lord Stephen Garnath, the ruthless ruler of Radiath When Lord Robert Demeresna, baron of Dawnever, visited Radiath, Lord Garnath gives Alex to him as a gift Alex could not believe it She is scared, so scared of Lord Robert She heard everything about this baron and they call him the Bloody Baron for being cruel, brutal, sadistic ruler of Dawnever They say that his lands are filled with scarecrows made from crucified men [...]

    3. I received this book for free after winning it on a giveaway The book summary showed promise, but the book itself was unable to generate the same enthusiasm I found that I cared very little for the main characters not that I disliked them, it s just that I couldn t relate to them and wasn t particularly invested in their fates Alex was a bland heroine and lacked emotional depth Robert was just your typical noble hero who was for the people and a perfect gentleman with Alex I was mildly intereste [...]

    4. So this book came as a surprise Because I got a kindle fire this Christmas, I was looking for some interesting e book reads I bought it totally on a whim, and based on the blurb I thought I was going to be reading some trashy fantasy romance I really didn t expect it to be as well written as it was, nor did I expect to enjoy it as much as I did I very much liked the main characters here I know that some of the other reviewers feel like there s not enough sexual attraction between the two main le [...]

    5. Hunter s Review When I first started reading this book, I thought it was well written and creative But I soon found myself completely sucked in I read it in one sitting and it is not a short book Robert is not a typical hero, he is multi faceted and there were times I wanted to scream at him But then again Alex is not a standard heroine She doesn t break easily and she frequently gives as good as she gets even if it is silent contempt What you get at the end of this book is an adult romance abou [...]

    6. Rife with sexism I ve always found fantasy books that use sexism as a major plot point to be tired and dreadfully boring Seriously, you couldn t think of anything else You had to make life miserable for all your female characters Further, I just got the impression that the book was written by a dirty old pervert That being said, I initially intended to give this two stars, because the writing itself isn t the worst I ve come across But, in the end, I was rolling my eyes too much at the lame miso [...]

    7. I liked the premise of this, and I enjoyed about the first 1 4 1 3 However, it felt like at least half of the book was some form of fighting or being on the move towards or away from battle, which really, really bogged things down for me.

    8. I enjoyed the worldbuilding Very unique I usually like steamier books this story had two fairly quick sex scenes, if I m remembering correctly but the sexual and romantic tension were pretty good.

    9. very independent heroine taking no nonsense from anyone due to the circumstances of her upbringing but is open to new views and experiences The hero was a bit too uptight for me, occasionally All in all a very promising first book I loved the hero s female cousin Susanna and her dog.
