1 thought on “Baltimore, Vol. 6: The Cult of the Red King

    1. This is a seriously creepy graphic novel series Definitely in the classic horror vein and unrelentingly dark in theme This book deals with witches and witchcraft, and in a disturbing way One of the reasons that witches are so detestable to me is their tendency to take over and control people s wills and casting curses against and on people These are the kind of witches that Balti is dealing with Balti is searching for the way to bring the Cult of the Red King down for good, and his cohorts split [...]

    2. This Lord Balti volume isn t bad I just did not like it as much as the other volumes I ve read. There is a coven of witches that have formed a cult of the Red King Lord Balti is trying to kill them all There is the usual mix of horror and violence There is the usual strange locales and exotic monsters For all that, I just did not enjoy this volume as much The artwork is actually quite decent Still the quality of the series is evidenced by even a mediocre entry, IMHO, is deserving of a three star [...]

    3. I m trying not to be too hard on this book, but this one really left me feeling cold I d honestly probably only give it two stars except that then I d feel bad for it It s not just the switch of artists from Ben Stenbeck to Peter Bergting there s nothing really wrong with Bergting s art, but Stenbeck was a favorite of mine, and this just doesn t have the same power for me it s just that this story felt like an awful lot of anticlimax for something that should have been a very big deal We ll see [...]

    4. Hmm I came into this story in the middle so I don t really know what s going on It s not my style of art and the story is passable There are witches and vampires There has been a plague caused by the vampires that is whipping out humans Lord Balti is seeking the Red King to stop the Plague This is what I can gather I don t know how it ends It might be good enough that I want to know what happens I think this really isn t my genre Or, I need to try it from the beginning.

    5. I stopped collecting single issues after the last arc because I didn t like balti as a team book as much, but this was a great story so now I wish I d kept it because I want to get the next arc as single issues Haigus is out of the picture now, but Balti won t be satisfied until the bigger boss is defeated, even if he has to gasp ask for help to do it The quality ofthe storytelling in this series hasn t diminished a notch

    6. It is not enough for Team Balti to encounter jellyfish floating in the air while at sea, but once they reach freezing temperatures and march across ice, one of the jellyfishes tendrils freezes against the ice, becoming a threat to the group as the freezing continues up its body, threatening to crash into the ice soon. That is the sort of detail I adore.

    7. It was a fun read The Plot was interesting may be a tiny bit harder than avarage to follow cause it jumped between two groups of Balti s crew, group 1 leaded by Balti to stop the blood red witch s evil in the city of St Petesburg Russia and group 2 was the rest of Balti s men who searched and found the first temple of The Red King in Carthage Tunisia to gather information to stop The Red King The book jumped between the activities of those two gruops from page to page and i don t really know a g [...]

    8. Boring and stupid once again.Huge panels belie elucidate depending on your perspective a paltry story, dull repetitive action and non existent character development So, issue 6 reduces to filler than anything.

    9. Balti lost some edge since I last met him Still a fascinating adventure with one of a kind perspective.

    10. This continues to be one of my favorite series The war against evil continues as Lord Balti and his associates seek a way to end the reign of the Red King this time, on two separate fronts St Petersburg and Carthage Balti and company do battle with an insidious coven of witches in Russia while Simon Hodge and Dr Rose seek the cradle of the Red King s cult in North Africa This is actually a good jumping on point for new readers Enough of the back story is covered here to give newbies enough to en [...]

    11. Balti Vol.6 The Cult of the Red King Lord Balti and his team moves toward the Red King step by slow painful step The team is for now divided Aischros team went to Carthage for a cult directly worshiping the Red King, to find out any clues to the bastard s location Lord Balti s team on the other hand went to St Petersburg to investigate a coven of witches enslaving people in the town Suffice it to say, with every adventure of Lord Balti and his friends, thing go awry and bloody, and here is no ex [...]

    12. Another fine entry in the Balti saga.I found this one a tad confusing at first since there were characters I didn t remember from the previous installment, but then when I signed in to to rate it I discovered my confusion was from having skipped the fifth arc entirely.Soe story s probably not confusing if you aren t a dumbass.

    13. Very fineThe art work was it s fun to notice an already fine artist improving over a short period of time swell. The plot was thickening nicely. Now I want the next issue.Guess they put dope other than me, smarty in these cause their musty You get one you must get another Ha gets an A for having these too Pat, pat Good.

    14. Balti The Cult of the Red King, volume 6, was creepy, as all Balti graphic novels are I love all things Mike Mignola authors and illustrates, and this graphic novel fits right along that path Cults, vampires, wraiths, etc everything I like that Dark Horse provides.

    15. I enjoyed the art and story of this book Sometimes, I read so many books between the last volume and the current volume that I forget part of the story line I didn t have that issue with this book The story was clear and whole, compelling and well constructed The villains, villainous.

    16. I was hoping the Red King would make an appearance but I still liked these five comics The cover of the first one is a favorite of mine.

    17. BCDER 68The blood red witch and her followers are introduced as Lord Balti trudges through Russia in his search for the Red King A good steady read that matriculates the story well.
