    1. We just loved this book of prose, beautiful illustrations and geography This book became our geography study of the week, paired with the atlas it provided for a great overview of the US It was a good follow up to our recent trans continental flight. As I mother I loved the words of love and acceptance communicated to my children in reading this to them. All around great book

    2. This book has nice artwork and flowery prose complimenting of the beauty of this vast land, and yet seems somewhat superficial in terms of what truly awaits any given explorer hoping to traverse the country to observe the wonder in every nook and cranny of American This reminded me of Disney s version of Pocahontas, without any of the story conflict In other words a sterile summary view.

    3. This is one of my favorite books to read to children I would highly recommend to the parents of my students to have it as part of their family collection at home It s message of unconditional, always present love from parents to children is so true and touching It also takes the readers to a tour across America that they would never forget It s lyrics are full of rich vocabulary The illustrations are extraordinary paintings that show the natural beauty of America Ages 4 12.

    4. We found this book at our local library on a shelf of books about life in America, in celebration of Independence Day It s a lyrically poetic book about America, but it s also basically a love note from a parent to a child that compares the different aspects of places around America to how a child grows and changes throughout life It is a book of hopes and dreams and is a nice book for a parent to read aloud with a child.

    5. The connections in this book between America and loving a child are what ultimately made it my favorite Each page has a poem about something to do with America, and at the end of each poem, the author says how this ties with loving a child I wish I could write poetry as well as I feel this author did For me, everything just fit so perfectly, and there wasn t anything that was incredibly cheesy, which can be very hard to pull of with poetry.

    6. This book even though it was a history book showed that there are different parts of america but all across america we are loved by the people around us and the country we live in it was a very wonderful book
