    3. Catlantis is a short, but incredibly beautiful story of the most heroic and brave cat Baguette He likes to spend his days on the windowsill, looking out as the world goes about its business He likes his food and his human family, but he loves Purriana.Purriana is a sleek and gorgeous street cat, and Baguette would like to spend the rest of his days with her But how can a house cat win the heart of a beauty such as Purriana, and espcially when he has a rival in the sly and conniving black cat Noi [...]

    4. Ever wonder why cats have nine lives Catatlantis by Anna Starobinets offers one explanation Good and bad guys dot the landscape of this fun fantasy hailing from Russia Friendship and romance also mark its chapters Highly imaginative, Catatlantis is a madcap adventure that kept me enthralled from start to finish. At first glance, our hero Baguette seems like just another ordinary housecat He s well fed and loved by his human owners His most outstanding concern is exactly how safe that window ledge [...]

    5. What a strange little book I laughed, I cried, I gasped Twist Is probably chock full of political commentary and references that I m not getting on first read, but what I can say is that the puns are on point in this translation.

    6. This is a cute children s story Baguette a ginger cat descendant from the original Catlanteans must retrieve a magical flower to ensure cats can have nine lives again and in the process be allowed to marry his sweetheart It was a fun read and pretty adorable.

    7. Delightfully charming fairy tale.Baguette has been foretold as the Ginger Tabby that will bring the Catlantic Flower that gives cats their nine lives to his people by the Oracle Baguette is motivated to go on the quest by his love of the Oracle s granddaughter Purriana She won t marry him unless he brings back the flower So Baguette uses his magical ability to time travel to go back in time to Catlantis He discovers that Catlantis sank because the Catlanteans angered the Gods, he barely escaped [...]

    8. Baguette, the ginger house cat, is in love with a beautiful stray named Purriana, but living on the twelfth floor of the Petrov family s Moscow apartment building makes courtship rather difficult Fortunately, the Petrov s dog, Bonehead, is willing to deliver notes of love and poetry, so it isn t long before the lovely Purriana has agreed to become Baguette s wife There s just the matter of the ancient feline tradition of a heroic feat, and Purriana has a doozey of a request she wants Baguette to [...]

    9. Told with impeccable style and littered with beautifully, simple but effective, line drawings, the story of Baguette s intrepid fearlessness combines myth, magic and legend From beginning to end there is never a dull moment for Baguette who is a feisty, determined, and it must be said, very charismatic hero He wears his coat, as orange as a carrot, with great panache and pride and his resolve to succeed knows no bounds.Everything about the story just feels right, from the magnificence of Baguett [...]

    10. Baguette, a ginger cat who lives with the Petrov family, is in love with Purriana and must go on a quest to Catlantis before his marriage to find the Catlantic flower which gives cats who sniff it nine lives Arch nemesis Noir, a black cat, hires the trash man to steal the flower upon Baguette s return so he will be able to marry Purriana instead Puns in abundance are scattered throughout this tale from the Catlantis cat aclysms to the code of cat echesis that the Catlanteans abide by Black and w [...]

    11. This was a really well done children s adventure book I liked the characters and cat mythology Theres also a bit of history thrown in because of the cat time travel There s some questionable cat racism, but a lot of the cats in here were puritanical, so many of their decisions were troubling, not just the black cats There s a lot that can be discussed in this, which will make it a lovely book to read with older kids.

    12. Loved the language and the storyline but some parts were rather slow Baguette and Purriana had unique personalities that shone through where as some of the other cats could have done with a bit detail Another fab book from Pushkin.Recommended for 9 11 year olds, especially cat fans

    13. I enjoyed this short cat tale about the Catlantean cats of Catlantis It helps to explain the significance of a cat s fur color, how they got 9 lives, and many cat mysteries.
