    1. I did not enjoy this book At all I had such a difficult time connecting to it Essentially, I found it boring I found Lord Sebastian s secret to be weak And for something that is supposed to be the crux of the book, that s not good.Sebastian thinks he s stupid His big secret is that he can t read This is no big spoiler it s in the blurb There is absolutely no tension or excitement to be found here None Sebastian and lady Georgina met before the book began, so there was no seeing them fall in love [...]

    2. 2 helms Please follow me on my blog Review originally posted on Vellum Voyages vellumvoyages Strugglefest It took me 6 months to trundle through this Just kept putting it down and picking it up and finally, I decided to finish this book once and for all yeap it was a skim read after 40% A tepid romance as this is about the lead up to Sebastian and Georgina s wedding and the issues that they face while Sebastian meets Georgian s family Oh, and there is the fact that Sebastian cannot read and Geor [...]

    3. Review written January 5, 2017Star Rating Heat Rating An Advanced Reader Copy ARC of this book was received free via Netgalley for an honest review.Sebastian and Georgiana are an interesting couple I suspect I missed their courtship in the earlier books of this series as I just jumped in with their book Certainly there is little enough said about what went on in London before their betrothal I do feel like I missed a few things along the way from not reading the earlier books The Stanes Georgian [...]

    4. Witty, charming with a wicked hilarity I have to say I really loved Sebastian Gresham s story Tender yet troubled For many reasons Sebastian reminded me of Freddy Standen in Georgette Heyer s Cotillion Whilst Sebastian s strengths are different to Freddy s, he nevertheless makes his fianc e Lady Georgina Stane feel protected As Georgina says, he always knows what to do And that s exactly how Kitty Charing felt about Freddy Sure it s reversed somewhat Sebastian is good looking, dashing, and at h [...]

    5. Ordinary breeds extraordinary What that means to me is that a person is so much than the skills they lack They are special because of who they are In the long run a pure heart and an open mind are all that matters Sebastian was a smart man but he failed to see that because of a misinterpreted flaw He was a man of action He could create a plan and carry it out but with intelligence and skill but when it came to understanding the reading, writing and curriculum, he felt like fish out of water Lor [...]

    6. Lord Sebastian s Secret was a complexly unique Historical Romance I have read hundreds of HR novels, and I believe this is one of the first novels I have read that actually starts after the engagement has been announced The Hero was loveable instantly he never brooded or had any dark thoughts about prior experiences in his life that would continually come between the heroine and himself The heroine was also immediately likeable She was intelligent, loyal and not one to be held down This story ha [...]

    7. Lord Sebastian s Secret is the third book in the Duke s Sons historical romance series by Jane Ashford I have not read the previous books, which might explain some of the issues I had with the book, but perhaps not.Lord Sebastian Gresham is a battle tested soldier and brilliant strategist Yet all his life he s had to hide his complete failure to decipher letters In his own mind, he s just stupid What a miracle it is that he s found the perfect bride Lady Georgina Stane is beautiful, witty, and b [...]

    8. ARC REVIEW Book three of Jane Ashford s The Duke s Sons series This one follows Sebastian obviously and Georgina They met and engaged in the previous book if you haven t read it you really don t miss much pertaining to them Sebastian has come to Georgina s family home to get to know the family before the wedding Georgina is worried that they will find her unacceptable because of her eccentric family But Sebastian has his own worries between Georgina s headstrong younger sisters bombarding him wi [...]

    9. This book was difficult to finish not because it was a bad book, but because there really wasn t much excitement throughout the story I understand how difficult it must have been for our hero Sebastian having to overcome the adversity of not being able to read, but it didn t build any suspense for the overall story Georgina s character was pretty flat for me She was beautiful, kind, thoughtful with no apparent flaws Being so perfect doesn t make for an very interesting character.I haven t read t [...]

    10. A romance with than simpering, helpless females I like Ashford s male character and how she deals with a learning disability while at the same time delivering a satisfying romance.

    11. Lord Sebastian s Secret is the third book in The Duke s Son s series by Jane Ashford The book can easily be read as a stand alone one, but with a series like this one I find it s always nice to read the previous books first so that you know about some of the characters that are mentioned in the latest book in the series. This is the story of Lord Sebastian Gresham He is a soldier and is revered for his skills on the battle field Strategy is his forte He has cleverly managed to hide the fact, eve [...]

    12. Second son of the Duke and Duchess of Langford, Sebastian Gresham is an exemplary military man, admired by his soldiers. He was engaged to Miss Georgina Stane In fact he was completely captivated by her, and now he was going to her house, Stane Castle, in Herefordshire, to meet her parents. But when he arrives there, Sebastian faces a very atypical family. Her parents, Marquess and Marchioness of Pembridge were eccentric. Her father liked to study local history as well as any mystical subject. Her mo [...]

    13. As reviewed at Roses Are Blue wp p3QRh4 tvUnlike a typical romance novel, LORD SEBASTIAN S SECRET opens with Georgina Stanes and Sebastian Gresham happily engaged and eagerly awaiting their upcoming wedding Sebastian is traveling to Georgina s home to meet the rest of her family and to wait for his own family to arrive for their marriage Sounds like a happily ever after, right at the beginning of the book What could possibly go wrong The Stanes family is very eccentric, to say the least Georgina [...]

    14. Lord Sebastian s Secret by Jane Ashford. This is the third book in The Duke s Sons Regency Series 2017I have to say upfront that I found Lord Sebastian Gresham a really delightful, wonderful and caring character Shows I probably fell in love with him myself.Lord Sebastian had become betrothed to Lady Georgina Stane The first time he saw her he thought she was the most beautiful creature ever It didn t hurt that she was an heiress As he began to know her he found her to be the most intelligent wom [...]

    15. Reviewed at Keeper BookshelfAt a time in history where very little was known about a true medical condition, dyslexia, Sebastian considered himself world smart but otherwise quite stupid Who in this day and age couldn t make sense of his letters enough to read a sentence So, he kept a secret and prayed the world, and especially the lovely Georgina, the love of his life, would never realize his oddity.Georgina loved Sebastian with a passion she was barely beginning to understand He was everything [...]

    16. A lively story I laughed in the first chapter Oh, yes I did And it didn t take long for me to be pulling for both Sebastian and Georgina almost from the start It happened so fast, it surprised me I kind of held my breath hoping the enjoyment would last throughout the book I did enjoy most of it, because it was one unorthodox household that Georgina came from The only thing didn t care for was the reincarnation that was included in the story It did like that most of the people treated the kindly [...]

    17. The secret here is no surprise as it is revealed early in the book as well as in the publisher s text about the novel Sebastian s wedding to Georgina, daughter of an eccentric marquis and his equally eccentric wife, is scheduled for several weeks hence, but Sebastian is visiting early to get to know his wife to be s family Naturally, and delightfully, the course of true love does not run smoothly This unusual and delightful book is the third in the Duke s Sons series, and while it is preferable [...]

    18. Lord Sebastian can hardly believe that the beautiful, intelligent Lady Georgiana Stane is going to be his wife He can lead an army and plan battles well, but reading and writing have always eluded him His father treated him like he was stupid, and he eventually began to believe it How could this lovely lady accept him, he thinks, if she finds out about his dilemma I love a good romance story, and this definitely qualifies It was a light, fun, cozy read I thought it was a unique twist to include [...]

    19. I ll be nice and say 3 although it was really like two and a half The whole thing with Georgina s father and his rituals and whatever was just a mess and seriously dragged down my enjoyment in the middle, and I m iffy about her sister Hilda But I actually really liked Sebastian surprisingly I didn t like his brothers in the first two and I m always iffy on Ashford s leading males in general in the few books I ve read and Georgina, and I wasn t too terribly annoyed with the rest of her family Bu [...]

    20. An enjoyable storySebastian the second son of a Duke has fallen in love and heads to his fianc s family castle where they are to be married She is worried because her family Contains a Marquis who gets involved in different odd things, his wife who devotes herself to breeding pugs, and two younger sisters who are expecting to move to London with the newly married couple Lots of laughable things happen.

    21. I keep telling myself, I will read the earlier books in the series before I read the one I have I keep failing at that I should try harder I wanted to smack these two I found the side characters particularly her parents and his brother to be much interesting For two people so much in love, these two circle each other like two kittens chasing a ball in a swirly thing.

    22. I received this book through a giveaway Jane Ashford did a great job of revealing Lord Sebastian s secret to his fiance, Georgiana, but not until near the end of the book There were several quirky characters that kept the story interesting until the secret was revealed If you enjoy historical romance stories, you will enjoy reading this book.

    23. This was lovely, with wonderful echoes of Georgette Heyer It s one of the few romances I ve read that made me laugh I desperately hope Sebastian s valet, Sykes, gets his own novel I d love to know what happens to him next.

    24. loved the book but I was a bit disappointed with the ending I was kind of hoping for this big climax but it was just how i would have liked it to have progressed Overall I loved the book, the parents of Georgina were my favorite characters.

    25. Colorful characters make for a great storyThis book has been my favorite in the series The quirkiness of the characters adds so much dimension to the story The hero s dyslexia is handled so well by the author I enjoyed this book immensely.
